Biography

John Marchi is a television writer born and raised in Wilton, Connecticut. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s degree in Cinema Studies from New York University. Focused primarily on the half hour format, John finds creative inspiration in the grounded, everyday struggles of life. He blends the dramatic and comedic in his writing, drawing on his experiences growing up in an unconventional family, his lifelong battle with mental health, and a decade of odd jobs before finally making the leap into screenwriting. If it can provoke a tear and a laugh within thirty minutes, it’s right up John’s alley. When he’s not writing, John can be found tinkering with his woodworking projects, on an adventure of his fiancé’s design, or deep in a YouTube rabbit hole on whatever topic grabs him late at night. John’s dream is to join a writer’s room, see his work on screen, and give back to the medium that has given him so much over the years.
