Biography
Rudy Jansen is a writer, artist, and filmmaker originally from Omaha, Nebraska. He’s worked in film and television in Los Angeles for over a decade and he has professional experience in casting, producing, and directing. During his time at UCLA, Rudy paid special attention to crafting compelling characters that speak with voices of their own. He gravitates toward complicated families and bittersweet stories often inspired by real life. He’s a former Academy Nicholl Fellowship quarterfinalist who aspires to write, and someday direct, big-budget cinematic epics as well as lo-fi indies, across both film and television. When he’s not working or writing, Rudy enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with their cat and dog. He lost a few summers selling T-shirts in parking lots outside of Grateful Dead shows, but now he’s trying to put that experience to use for a documentary about Deadheads in Japan.
